The Apollo team (part of AWS Builder Tools organization) owns the software and systems that help Amazon’s massive developer team community build the cutting-edge services and technology that Amazon is known for. Our systems deliver the technology that powers fully-automated continuous deployment workflows and dynamic scaling for some of the world’s largest services. We execute millions of deployments to millions of hosts, every day.

Key job responsibilities
  • Responsible for leading by example and mentoring more junior engineers.
  • Leading the team's technical strategy and delivering on excellent designs and code.
  • Solving our complex technical challenges with customer obsession.
  • Work and collaborate in an agile team to deliver results and meet commitments.
  • Own and architect distributed, fault tolerant, highly available and scalable services.
  • Assist in developing project plans and meeting on customer commitments.
  • Strive to constantly improve our operational practices and CI/CD practices.
  • Work with other engineers to diagnose and resolve customer issues including as part of on-call rotation.
  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

The base salary for this position ranges from $150,700/year up to $251,700/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
