Job description

At Powerline Plus Ltd., we focus on three main operations: Electrical, Civil Construction, and Engineering and design. We provide quality solutions to public utilities, municipalities, and developers, as well as to industrial, national, and international manufacturing companies across the GTA.

The Mechanic Shop Administrator at Powerline Plus Ltd. performs a wide variety of critical tasks and administrative functions which contribute to the success and efficiency of the Fleet Department. The Mechanic Shop Administrator participates actively and maintains ongoing relations with the Foreperson, Fleet Assistants, Warehouse Staff, the Mechanic Shop Supervisor, and Management.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a two (2) year program for Business Administration, Office Administration or other related discipline required
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience as an Administrative Assistant is required
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office is required

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Photocopy all truck parts and repair invoices and enter them into an Excel spreadsheet
  • Create all work orders as received; sending to fleetrepair@powerlineplus.com in addition to orders received via telephone from foremen/supervisors
  • Update and follow up on the status of all work orders
  • Track daily circle checks for the entire fleet (enter in spreadsheet, troubleshoot discrepancies, sort, and file)
  • Create work orders for defects noted resulting from circle check
  • Maintain fleet files
  • Enter new trucks/equipment and remove old trucks/equipment from the fleet and equipment schedule and Jonas Software
  • Keep track of all Annuals on all trucks (carbon copies, enter in a spreadsheet, forecast expirations, create work orders for expirations, etc.)
  • Maintain ownership binders
  • Monitor fleet parts
  • Bucket truck dielectric testing
  • Tooling bucket trucks
  • Safety equipment for bucket trucks (wheel chocks, outrigger pads, bucket rescue, etc.)
