Process Engineer

As a diverse and rapidly growing organization, TWD is a leading organization in the oil and gas industry with expertise ranging from refinery, pipelines, terminalling and blending, renewables, food and beverage, power, and much more. TWD is currently seeking a Process Engineer in Edmonton or Calgary, AB.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Supporting Firebag operations contact engineers with MOC work
  2. Work with a team of engineers and other professionals on a wide range of projects. Projects vary in scale from small single discipline projects to very large, multidiscipline projects with project costs.
  3. Perform work primarily in the process discipline; however also provide support/assistance to other disciplines.
  4. Work with project teams including engineers, operations personnel, project managers, environmental professionals, and other stakeholders, to help develop the scope, objectives and user requirements of individual projects.
  5. Support technology assessments and reviews.
  6. Support requirements for process validations and conduct process simulations.
  7. Process equipment/piping sizing and specification.
  8. Development of process calculations.
  9. Support the development of PFDs, P&IDs, Line and Tie‐in Lists.
  10. Develop guidelines and specifications for the handling of dangerous chemicals, environmental protection and/or standards for foods, materials and consumer goods.
  11. Establish quality control programs, operating procedures and control strategies to ensure consistency and adherence to standards for raw materials, products and waste products or emissions.
  12. Capable of developing scoping studies, design basis memorandums and participation in engineering design specifications and detail engineering.
  13. Ability to technically support and troubleshoot project efforts through construction and commissioning.
  14. Provide internal “Safe Design” checks on project packages.
  15. Assist in the ongoing development of TWD internal systems to improve our quality and efficiency of delivering effective projects to clients.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years experience.
  • Chemical Engineering degree with P.Eng designation for Alberta.
  • SAGD experience.
  • Previous experience with Suncor is preferable (either directly or indirectly).
  • Work Independently.
  • MOC Experience.
  • Live in Calgary or Edmonton.
  • Have previous site experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a range of personalities to establish effective working relationships with the required stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
