Senior Process Engineer Position in Edmonton, AB

Wood is currently seeking a Senior Process Engineer in Edmonton, AB to expand our team within the Oil & Gas Canada business.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be engaged in projects across several areas including oil and gas (upstream, midstream, downstream), energy transition, and petrochemical industries. We are seeking experienced engineers with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance across the full life cycle of projects, including study phase, DBM, FEED, and Detailed Design. Wood continues to differentiate itself from its competitors by delivering quality projects to meet our client’s requirements and expectations. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Use strong technical knowledge to complete process engineering deliverables and tasks with minimal guidance and direction.
  2. Develop process simulations and heat and material balances.
  3. Conduct process equipment and line sizing and optimize process control strategy to support PFD and P&ID development.
  4. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and interface with Clients.
  5. Complete conceptual studies through to detail engineering stages within timeline and budget.
  6. Coordinate/Supervise a team of process engineers offering support and guidance to junior and intermediate process engineers.
  7. Perform checking of all process engineering deliverables in accordance with industry codes, standards, guidelines, and client specifications.
  8. Conduct regular reporting, scheduling, resource planning, and coordination with workshare offices.
  9. Keep updated on technical skills and new technologies in the industry.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with the majority spent working in refining, petrochemicals, or oil & gas industries.
  • Proficiency in HYSYS and/or ProMax.
  • Client-facing skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication (English) skills.
  • Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals.
  • Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Coordinate with team members in other workshare offices.
  • PHA experience is required.
  • Currently registered or eligible for registration with APEGA.
