As an Application Engineering Co-op/Intern a typical day might include the following:
  1. Providing technical support to the Sales and Customer Service team related to protection.
  2. Supporting application engineers to develop best practice application guides for SEL technology that provide secure and compliant solutions.
  3. Performing testing on new and existing technology.
  4. Providing support for communication/automation/protection test beds.
  5. Continuously identifying, measuring, and improving processes.
  6. Follow and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
  7. Understand. Create. Simplify.
This job might be for you if:
  1. You are a current student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with a focus on Power System Protection and Control.
  2. You are available for a 4 or 8-month long co-op starting in January 2025.
  3. You are self-motivated/a self-starter.
  4. You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
  5. You are able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  6. You have background check results satisfactory to SEL.
Location Information

This position is located in Barrie, ON. Barrie is located on the shores of Kempenfelt and the western arm of Lake Simcoe. Enjoy access to beaches in the summer months, and challenging ski resorts in the winter. Barrie's close proximity to Toronto makes it an ideal place to live and work.

Pay Range Data

($17.00 - $26.50 CAD per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
