What you’ll be doing

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead the estimating team to ensure accurate and timely project pricing.
• Mentor and develop junior estimators to enhance their skills and performance.

Project Pricing and Estimation:

• Accurately price high-performance prefabricated exterior wall systems and all related building elements according to project specifications.
• Develop detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

Supplier Database Management:

• Build and maintain a key supplier database for specific third-party project components, ensuring the availability of quality materials at competitive prices.
• Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best pricing and delivery terms.

Process Improvement:

• Enhance the efficiency of estimating processes and practices by introducing new tools and methodologies.
• Implement and advocate for best estimating practices tailored to the unique needs of prefabricated façade panel manufacturing.

Cost Analysis and Reporting:

• Collaborate with the Finance team to analyze detailed actual project costs to refine and improve future estimates.
• Prepare and present cost analysis reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for project cost optimization.

Design & Engineering Collaboration:

• Work closely with the Design & Engineering team to develop optimal approaches for configuring wall systems for each project.
• Ensure project designs align with manufacturing capabilities and client specifications.

Sales Support:

• Support the Sales department by ensuring all sales proposals accurately reflect the project scope and costs.
• Provide technical expertise and cost information to assist in the preparation of sales proposals.

Change Order Management:

• Collaborate with the Project Management team to accurately price and manage change orders.
• Ensure all change orders are documented and reflected in project cost estimates.

Tool Proficiency and Innovation:

• Utilize AutoCAD proficiently to support estimating tasks.
• Introduce additional tools and technologies to streamline the estimating process and improve accuracy.

Stakeholder Communication:

• Ensure clear and consistent communication with all internal stakeholders, fostering an environment of open dialogue and collaboration.
• Approach external client interactions with a professional and calm demeanor, always looking to provide solutions.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Extensive experience in Construction or Manufacturing Estimating, working for either a general contractor or within the manufacturing sector.
• Knowledge of facade panel design, manufacturing processes, and installation techniques.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient knowledge using AutoCAD
• Proficient knowledge using Bluebeam is an asset.
• Eagerness to learn about the prefabricated/modular industry and to play an active role in the development of the department and company as a whole.
