Job Responsibilities

(Internal Title: Consulting III)

  • Perform day-to-day project-specific tasks and duties as planned and identified for the project 
  • Overview/whiteboard of Contractor's Access Submissions
  • Create and maintain flagging booking and utilization trackers
  • Communicate and log contractor cancellations
  • Forecast and manage appropriate means and methods to complete the assigned tasks and duties on medium-sized projects or medium-sized project elements on larger projects or programs from inception through to completion 
  • Review and ensure adherence to the scope, schedule, and budget 
  • Evaluate project effectiveness by consulting with clients and staff 
  • Create and maintain Contractor cost trackers
  • Root cause Contractor flagging utilization and "No Show" events
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, and presentations to all applicable teams 
  • Track and manage contractor risk assessment and work plans
  • Verify and sign Flagging time cards
  • Create and maintain Major Closure summary packs
  • Review daily NOC (Network Operations Center) report and escalate project related issues
  • Consult with the assigned Supervisor or higher or to seek guidance and input during the key phases of a project 
  • Complete any tasks assigned by the Supervisor or higher in an efficient and timely manner

Qualifications Required

Experience: 

Minimum of 8 years of experience in Consulting in area of specialty

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field 

Licenses OR Certifications:

  • Holding recognized certification in relevant field as needed 

Skills and Competencies: 

  • Understanding of railway flagging operations and track protection types
  • Familiarity with Network access planning processes and protocols
  • Proficiency in effective system/process building
  • In-depth understanding of prevailing consulting means and methods in area of specialty 
  • Extensive experience in effectively leading a small team
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment by ensuring effective teamwork, promotion of innovation, and overall excellence 
  • Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices 
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 
  • Proficient in other applicable
  • Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
  • Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
  • Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
  • Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
