Arborwest Consulting Ltd is seeking a motivated, career-driven individual to join our Utility Vegetation Management team.

We currently have one full-time and/or one part-time position to fill.

This position will be based in Victoria on Vancouver Island and may require some travel.

Applicants must have related arboriculture or forest management experience.

Requirements for this position:

  • Minimum one year of Natural Resource Management experience
  • Eligible for ISA Arborist Certification, Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) and/or Wildlife Danger Tree Assessor (WLDT)
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and GIS mapping experience
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Class 5 Drivers License with ability to operate four-wheel drive vehicle and other off-road vehicles
  • Ability to walk/hike rugged terrain in all weather conditions
  • Ability to interpret maps/work plans and navigate accordingly
  • Ability to collaborate with others on project teams
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently
  • Ability to identify common coastal trees and growth rates
  • Flexibility for overnight travel

Considered an asset for this position:

  • Utility Vegetation Management (UVM) experience
  • Certified Utility Arborist (CUA) or Apprentice Utility Arborist (AUA)
  • ISA Certified Arborist/Utility Specialist
  • ABCFP Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) or Registered Professional Forester (RPF)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)

Compensation is based on experience and qualifications.
Salary: $30 to $40 per hour (before overtime)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
