This position reports to

Supervisor, Systems Engineering Research

Your role and responsibilities

• Interact directly with the project manager and client to understand needs, serve as the technical contact, and maintain a relationship of trust throughout the project phases.
• Ensure system compliance, manage technical risks, and iterate with the client on their requirements.
• Establish, manage, and capture system and subsystem requirements, design and model systems, and monitor system performance.
• Develop technical budgets, define margins, and make regular presentations in both English and French to clients or the technical team.
• Collaborate with the Integration and Test team to develop test plans, define verification and validation strategies, and coordinate the project team technically.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or applied sciences, or equivalent.
  • Solid experience in developing optical instrumentation.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a technical project lead, including requirements tracking, control system development, and electro-optical systems development.
  • Good knowledge of INCOSE, MIL-STD, ISO, and other standards.
  • Proficiency with tools like Magic Draw (Model-based Systems Engineering), Windchill, Office suite, and programming experience in Matlab or Python.
