The Senior Product Owner will be driving the delivery of initiatives related to the expansion of the Bank’s Fusion capability by owning the product life cycle noted within all roadmaps and workstreams. This role is the connection between the agile team, Business Stakeholders, and extended teams, preparing and presenting roadmap progress, issues and recommendations for resolution to internal business partners and executives. The Senior Product Owner will measure the value the product creates using key performance indicators (KPIs), and ensure alignment between the work done by the agile team and the business goals.

What You’ll Be Doing

Reporting to the Senior Director for Fusion Services, you will build and implement new initiatives or enhancements to existing systems ensuring business requirements are met at each phase of development. You are responsible for growing Fusion capabilities by prioritizing and executing on business requirements defined by operational teams and partners. You will work closely with project and technology teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues throughout the development process translating requirements into technical and procedural outcomes. You will assist with developing key onboarding tools, technologies, and capabilities that enable and support the effective operation of all Fusion teams. This includes, but is not limited to; executing a service management capability that ensures sound strategy and decisioning for the suite of tools and technologies that support Fusion, and delivering on strategic initiatives to build and advance the Fusion team.

How You’ll Succeed:

• Product Management – Assist in development and delivery of the strategy and roadmaps for a portfolio of tools and technologies that support Fusion and manage product backlog dependencies and integrations with project teams. Drive product execution by attending daily/ weekly cadences, reviewing and approving user stories, and approving QA/ UAT results. Monitor and support product launch and post launch activities. Provide clear, concise direction to associated technology projects. Exercise considerable judgement for decision making on complex issues, researching relevant data, and developing proposals and recommendations as well as coordinating resources needed to execute the work.

• Strong Communication – Own product communications by continuously reporting on the status, risks and issues of projects, gaining consensus with the technology teams on direction to successfully deliver projects. Contribute content to presentations and reports. Understand the business strategy and communicate it effectively to the agile team.

• Relationship Management – Be available to the agile team to answer questions and provide clarification and decisions. Maintain an internal network and continuous engagement with CIBC’s enterprise security and fraud teams, in addition to an external network of contacts in the security/fraud industry. You will also effectively leverage interpersonal skills to impact actions and decisions across CIBC.

• Continuous Improvement – Provide a cross-disciplinary perspective and ongoing focus for continuous improvement and collaboration with partners across the enterprise. Make recommendations to business leaders to ensure alignment and enhancement of our systems, processes, and practices to current and future trends that will secure and safeguard CIBC.

Who You Are

• 5-10 years of experience in Product Management leading SaaS products.

• Proven technical skills and self-learning ability, capable of understanding the functional and technical aspects of complex systems.

• You can identify, analyze, and present data in an easy-to-understand manner.

• Technical writing experience to identify high-value facts, arranging them in order of informational priority, and organizing them into a document.

• A deep understanding and application of agile methodologies.

• User Stories & User Interface design knowledge.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Broad experience creating and supporting a long-term vision while delivering iteratively.

• Skills in collaborating with other teams to build consensus and alignment across the organization.

• Deep knowledge in organizing and prioritizing competing time demands.

• Excellent ability to convey vision, roadmap, and requirements at all levels of the organization.
