Our sectoral research function operates as an extension of our clients’ business intelligence operations. We have a large specialty practice that covers commodities and materials markets.

Position profile

As a Sectoral Analyst - Commodities and Materials, your primary mandate will be to track, analyze and report on key factors and developments affecting specific sectors in the commodities and materials markets.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Research, collect and analyze statistics and information on key factors and trends impacting a given sector;
  • Write on key developments in succinct monthly industrial reports;
  • Assist the teamin assessing factors such as global supply and demand conditions, market projections, product differentiation, firm behavior, cost structure, macroeconomic environment, etc.;
  • Serve as a trusted client contact while delivering consummate customer service and relationship management.

Required profile

Your interest in economics in a business context coupled with your thoroughness, integrity and team spirit make you an excellent candidate if you also have:

  • A higher education degree in business, commerce, economics or a relevant related discipline;
  • Prior confirmedexperience in a similar role;
  • English-language journalistic writing skills and the ability to effectively communicate results in a convincing and engaging manner;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.

Description du poste

En tant qu’analyste industriel – matières premières et matériaux, votre mandat principal sera de suivre, d’analyser et de rendre compte des facteurs clés affectant un secteur spécifique, typiquement dans les marchés des matières premières et des matériaux.

Vos principales reponsabilités:

  • Rechercher, recueillir et analyser des données et de l’information sur les tendances-clés affectant les entreprises d’un secteur donné.
  • Écrire sur les développements principaux dans des rapports industriels mensuels et succincts.
  • Assister l’équipe à évaluer des facteurs tels que les conditions mondiales de l’offre et de la demande, les projections du marché, l’environnement macroéconomique, l'activité manufacturière, les produits concurrents, etc.
  • Agir à titre de personne-ressource auprès des clients en offrant un service à la clientèle hors-pair.

Profil recherché:

Notre candidate/candidat idéal(e) est intéressé(e) par l’économie dans un contexte industriel, est rigoureux et intègre, possède un bon esprit d’équipe, de même que :

  • Un diplôme en économie, affaires, commerce ou dans une discipline connexe;
  • De l’expériencedans un poste similaire;
  • De fortes compétences en anglais écrit et une capacité à communiquer efficacement des résultats de manière convaincante et engageante;
  • Une connaissance avancée du logiciel Excel.
