Manufacturing and Estimating Engineer We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manufacturing and Estimating Engineer to join our team. This role combines expertise in manufacturing processes and cost estimation to ensure the successful planning, design, and execution of our production processes. You will estimate project costs, analyze production capabilities, and ensure products are manufactured efficiently and within budget. Responsibilities Manufacturing Process Design – Create and maintain product BOMs, digitize machine input with cutting instructions, review design, materials, and process capability, advice on quotation, tooling and ECN, draft process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates, and develop compliant documentation. Cost Estimation – Prepare accurate cost estimates for manufacturing projects, create detailed cost models for bids, and work with procurement and engineering teams to identify cost‑reduction opportunities while maintaining quality. Production Planning and Scheduling – Assist in developing production schedules and timelines, coordinate with production teams to monitor progress, and resolve production‑related issues. Collaboration with Cross‑Functional Teams – Work closely with engineering, procurement, and design teams to align project specifications, production capabilities, and cost goals, and liaise with suppliers for accurate material costs and lead times. Data Analysis and Reporting – Analyze historical data, market trends, and production performance, and prepare reports on estimated costs, production status, and potential risks for senior management. Compliance and Quality Assurance – Ensure processes meet industry standards, safety regulations, and company quality standards; participate in quality audits and resolve non‑conformities. Continuous Improvement – Identify and recommend improvements in manufacturing methods, estimating accuracy, and cost‑saving measures, and stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies. Qualifications Education – Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Certifications in estimating, project management, or lean manufacturing are a plus. Experience – 3‑5 years in manufacturing engineering, cost estimating, or related fields; hands‑on experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in foam and adhesives. Technical Skills – Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), manufacturing simulation tools, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle), and cost estimation software or Excel‑based modeling. Soft Skills – Excellent problem‑solving, attention to detail, strong communication, and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Knowledge – Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, lean manufacturing principles, and cost estimation techniques.
