Responsibilities

What your day will look like

  1. Lead a variety of transportation/traffic planning and design projects involving traffic analysis, parking reviews, road safety audits, signage and pavement marking reviews, neighbourhood traffic management, and transportation demand management
  2. Support Dillon’s leading technical staff in project delivery for a variety of public and private sector clients
  3. Provide technical expertise on a variety of projects as part of multidisciplinary teams (including planners, project engineers, environmental scientists, technologists)
  4. Contribute to proposals and support other marketing and administrative efforts

Qualifications

A degree in civil engineering or urban planning, or a diploma in civil engineering technology, with a transportation focus

At least 5 years’ professional experience

Qualified to practise in Ontario as a Professional Engineer, Registered Professional Planner or Certified Engineering Technologist, or eligible to be qualified within six months

Experience

The appropriate candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong interest and knowledge in some, or all, of the following areas:

  1. Transportation impact studies
  2. Parking studies
  3. Road safety studies
  4. Traffic calming studies
  5. Warrant analysis for traffic control devices
  6. Working knowledge of intersection performance software: Synchro, SIDRA
  7. Active transportation and transportation demand management (TDM) programs
  8. Proficient use of AutoCAD
  9. Well-developed report writing, organization and interpersonal skills
