We are hiring a  Director of Finance and Administration  for our client located in Markham, Ontario

Working Conditions
The job is only from the company’s office.  There is no option to work hybrid or remotely.
Schedule: Mon – Fri, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Full-Time, Permanent Position.
Company location:  Markham, ON
Salary ranges from $120K to $130K, which is commensurate with education and experience.

Reporting to the President, the Director of Finance and Administration will play a crucial role in driving the company's finance operations, leading, and developing the finance and admin team, supporting decision-making processes, optimizing operations, overseeing company administrative and HR functions, and managing day-to-day accounting operations for two businesses.

R oles and Responsibilities

General Finance and Administration:

Plan, direct and manage finance and administration
Train, supervise and support the finance and administration team
Evaluate current accounting and administrative activities and lead changes to improve and implement new processes
Ensure accuracy and compliance of financial transactions with organizational goals and accounting standards
Monitor and manage cash flow, accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and payment collections
Manage period closes, provide guidance to maintain internal controls and foster team development

Financial Strategy and Decision Support:

Provide critical decision support through data analysis, reporting, and strategic insights, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices
Collaborate with the President and senior management to set and support strategic priorities for the company
Lead the budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to align financial objectives with strategic initiatives, utilizing data-driven insights and recommending process improvements
Ensure efficient resource allocation and cost management across the organization.
Utilize existing and develop new systems to extract meaningful data and drive actionable recommendations for optimizing key business processes in collaboration with department leaders.

HR Functions:

Oversee HR functions, including the development and implementation of policies, procedures, performance management systems, and payroll changes.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Collaborate with department heads to address employee needs and promote professional development opportunities.

Operational Efficiency and Process Improvement:

Identify areas for process improvement to enhance client experience and streamline operations.
Develop and maintain KPIs, reports, dashboards, and visualizations to provide insights into business performance and support decision-making across the organization.
Oversee the production of financial statements and operational reports with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and strategic relevance.

Team Leadership and Development :

Manage and mentor the accounting and admin team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
Provide guidance and support to enable the team to meet organizational objectives effectively, promoting data-driven analysis as core competencies within the accounting and finance department.
Continue your own development and personal growth in your profession.

Requirements:
7-10 years in similar financial role
Professional designation: CPA CA/CGA/CMA
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Proficiency in ERP systems
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel capabilities (v-lookup, pivot tables)
experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools beneficial
Communicate effectively and in a constructive manner with customers, co-workers, and our clients
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Excellent problem-solving skills,
Highly organized, detail-oriented, can manage multiple priorities and able to meet deadlines consistently
