Technical Service Representative, Electrical - Sparwood, BC

Reports to:  Lead, Technical Service
Shift:  7x7 12 hours per day
Location:  Sparwood, BC
Relocation:  This position does not offer relocation

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Be available for shovel build, commissioning stage, and follow-up repair and service
  • Provide technical support all our product lines on customers’ site
  • Research and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Apply electrical, mechanical knowledge to equipment and issues
  • Interface current field issues with our Engineering group to assist, rectify and improve repetitive or critical issues
  • Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Electrical Journeyman certification
  • Technician qualification will be an advantage
  • Able to participate in machine building and commissioning phases of new equipment
  • Understand the operation and function of mining shovels and be capable of accurately diagnosing problems.
  • Possess proven experience troubleshooting mining machines while working in an outdoor environment plus demonstrated electrical proficiency on high voltage electrical equipment
  • Experience in testing the repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Superior customer service skills and communication skills are required
  • Solid track record in dealing with customers in a technical role
  • Adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems at customer sites
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other mechanical and electrical journeymen and apprentices within the field environment
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
