ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsibilities:

  • Full Cycle Accounting: Perform full cycle accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Month-End and Year-End Duties: Preparation of the closing processes for both month-end and year-end, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.
  • Multi-Company Environment: Handle accounting functions for multiple entities within the organization, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Internal Reporting Review and Process Audit: Review internal reporting processes to ensure that minimum standards are being followed and identify and report deficiencies. Audit internal processes to ensure financial risks are minimized and facilitate process improvements.
  • Year-End Working Papers: Prepare comprehensive year-end working papers to assist with the annual audit and financial review processes.
  • Monthly Accounts and General Ledger Work: Aid in processing of accounts payable and sales transactions and maintaining the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Review of Accounts and Income: Regularly review and analyze accounts and income statements, identifying discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.

General Skillsets:

  • Self-motivated, demonstrates initiative and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, meticulous work approach and precision in all accounting activities.
  • Professional, maintain composure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in meetings and all training as required.

ABOUT YOU

  • CPA certification or equivalent (or working towards one) preferred.
  • Min. 5 years proven experience in accounting with a deep understanding of the full accounting cycle.
  • Familiarity with popular accounting software systems including advanced skills in MS Excel, and the use of lookup functions and pivot tables.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
  • Experience in the automotive industry or related fields is a strong asset.
