Job Position: Dietary Aide

Job type: Temp to perm

Location: Huntsville, ON

Shifts will be 11:30am - 7:30pm or 10am - 6pm

20-30 hours a week

Food Handler Certification Mandatory by Public Health

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Assist with the preparation of food items for serving meals including beverages, salads, sandwiches and desserts.
• Assist the Cook with hot food preparation.
• Setting the table for meal service, tray assembly for infirmary and cookware washing.
• Follow sanitation and safety procedures on an ongoing basis for all kitchen equipment.
• Perform cleaning duties as per cleaning schedule and job routines.
• Serve meals as per therapeutic guidelines
• Participate in educational in-services; identify personal education needs.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Nutrition Services Coordinator or Cook.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Food Service Workers Course form an accredited college
• Secondary School Diploma required
• Previous experience in institutional food service preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• The working conditions include the operation of manual and electrical equipment and exposure to chemicals. Exposure to blood and body fluids and therefore the Dietary Aide is required to be familiar with universal and body substance precautions.
