INCATech is searching for a GIS Enterprise System Engineer to support a DHS customer by evaluating, designing, implementing, and administering key GIS software/server components that support organizational workflows and capabilities to meet robust GIS platform requirements. This role will provide technical support and expertise managing geospatial server and portal software to effectively deliver geospatial content and services to organizational stakeholders. Individuals in this position must be able to proactively craft, propose and implement configured solutions that address critical challenges and mission requirements faced by the client.
Work Location: Hybrid 3 days in Springfield, VA
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for administering an ArcGIS Enterprise instance ensuring all components including Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Data Store, Web Adaptor for IIS, and related ArcGIS Server extensions (GeoEvent), as necessary, within development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Monitor customer ArcGIS Enterprise instance to ensure it is always operational and provide corrective action to triage and remediate system issues.
- Provide patching, upgrade, and other system maintenance functions.
- Maintain supporting documentation related to system, network, and application designs and implementations.
- Provide support for developing deployment strategies and timelines, configurations, testing/evaluating criteria, and documentation for GIS Products such as ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Monitor, and mobile GIS applications like Survey123 and FieldMaps.
- Provide platform (i.e., client and server) configuration guidance and best practices to customers.
- Perform basic and advanced geo-processing tasks using Desktop, web, and cloud-based ArcGIS platforms, other Esri products and extensions, and Python and SQL scripts.
- Communicate ArcGIS Enterprise technologies, complex technical demonstrations, and GIS products to technical and non-technical customers with varying levels of expertise.
- Collaborate internally to help customer organizations align their technical objectives and business goals with Esri’s technology platform.
- Support building configurable and focused applications to help filter various web-based data sources and services to help isolate organizational information.
- Three or more years of experience in Enterprise GIS architecture, designing, implementing, and/or administrating enterprise GIS solutions/systems that leverage the ArcGIS Enterprise platform.
- Experience with Esri software including ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, and associated software components; experience with patching, upgrades, and configuration of application components.
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies (Scrum).
- Experience with current technology implementation patterns including service-oriented and cloud.
- Strong communication skills, ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether to other technical peers or non-technical project managers or customers.
- Automating the publishing and maintenance of customer datasets.
- Experience with ArcGIS GeoEvent server.
- Experience with ArcGIS Monitor.
- Experience or exposure to load testing tools such as JMeter to help assess platform usage and anticipate and assess load-related challenges.
- Experience within DHS IT Systems developing GIS/IT-driven solutions.
- Proven ability to interface with GIS Analysts and Solution Engineers to collaboratively build user-facing solutions.
- Skilled communicator of both technical and non-technical concepts to both internal and customer-facing audiences.
- Experience with Hot/Cold and/or High-Availability configurations of ArcGIS Enterprise.
