Financial Reporting Analyst

Forge Recruitment is seeking a Financial Reporting Analyst for a well-established law firm in Toronto. This role offers a unique opportunity to join the firm's expanding accounting team and make a significant impact on its continued growth and success.
About the Role
As a Financial Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for timely and accurate data collection, preparation, and analysis across daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting periods. This includes managing reports on cash receipts, accounts receivable, work in progress (WIP), billings, and rates and analyzing client/timekeeper productivity and profitability. You will conduct analyses and create schedules to support the annual rate-setting process. You will also prepare spreadsheets, charts, and diagrams to compare prior, current, budgeted, and projected revenues and expenditures.
Your role involves monitoring and analyzing financial data to identify trends and provide management with timely insights. You'll develop economic models to measure and report on key performance indicators and support inputs in the annual budgeting process. Additionally, you will create and maintain a standard set of reports for various stakeholders and prepare written reports and presentations summarizing financial performance for internal stakeholders, including senior management.

What You Bring
To succeed in this role, you should have at least 5 years of experience in reporting and analysis within a professional service setting. An undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance is required, and experience in a finance group of a professional services firm is preferred. Advanced Excel knowledge, proficiency in writing macros and basic SQL queries, and experience with accounting software such as Aderant are essential. You should be skilled in business intelligence data visualization tools and project management and be familiar with financial system implementations, workflows, and dashboards. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple demands and projects with minimal supervision are essential for success in this role.
