What you’ll do
  1. A dedicated focus on improving data security, maintaining database integrity, and contributing to geospatial projects.
  2. Own the development and management of application databases using Oracle technologies, ensuring efficient security and performance.
  3. Establish robust Oracle database security measures, including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Oracle Key Vault.
  4. Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate secure data practices into business processes.
  5. Analyze data and deliver actionable insights to support business strategies.
  6. Manage Oracle DBA tasks, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
  7. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, designs, and procedures.
  8. Keep tabs on emerging Oracle database management trends, technologies, and standard methodologies.
  9. Mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and support.
  10. Enhance data storage and retrieval processes to improve system efficiency.
  11. Ensure alignment to data governance and security policies across all database systems.
  12. Contribute in project planning and review meetings to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
What You Bring to the Role
  1. Minimum 10 years of proven expertise with Oracle DBA Security Administration and Oracle Admin.
  2. Solid grasp of geospatial concepts and technologies.
  3. Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database optimization techniques.
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  5. Ability to collaborate optimally within an inclusive work setting.
  6. Good communication and social skills.
  7. Familiarity with GIS software and tools is an added bonus.
Working arrangements

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 2 days a week in a client office in Halifax, NS or Mississauga, ON, Canada.
