MatchBox Consulting Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our client in Victoria, Vancouver, or Kelowna, BC. Responsibilities:
  1. Stay informed about the latest technological advancements in engineering.
  2. Conduct client meetings and prepare various documents such as correspondence, reports, specifications, and meeting minutes.
  3. Foster effective communication with clients, developers, consultants, agencies, and the public, either working alongside the principal-in-charge or independently representing the practice.
  4. Take the lead in the design and construction administration process for assigned projects, overseeing activities from Schematic Design to Project Close-out.
  5. Provide direction to staff, including assigning and reviewing work, as well as offering guidance on technical challenges.
  6. Establish and uphold project criteria through collaborative team communication, monitor internal budgets, and track project delivery schedules.
Requirements:
  1. Minimum 4+ years of experience in mechanical HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, covering design, project management, and client relations.
  2. Proficient in industry software, including Revit, AutoCAD, IESve, HAP, and Microsoft Office.
  3. Strong analytical, communication, and report writing skills, with the ability to gather information and prepare comprehensive reports.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills, facilitating effective relationships with employees, clients, colleagues, and municipal agencies.
  5. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments, navigate conflicting priorities, and make sound engineering decisions.
  6. Possession of P.Eng. certification, or eligible to be certified in the near future.
