1 ‑ Part Time (.2) ‑Registered Nurse

Upsala Nursing Station

Note: This position may be combined with anotherexisting position.

Reporting to the Manager and Director of Emergency Services, youwill be responsible for providing quality nursing

care to residents of Upsala and visitors to the area, includingemergency care and patient follow up and healing

education. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, youwill practice within the Standards of the College of

Nurses of Ontario, the Philosophy and Values of Nursing Servicesand the policies of the Hospital.

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

* Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with theCollege of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to

become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario

* Current certification in BCLS, Emergency advance nursing skills

* Two years experience in Emergency Nursing

* Certification, or recent continuing education in Nursing ispreferred

* Previous recent emergency experience. Previous station/outpostnursing experience is desirable

* Awareness of own limitations, recognizes when referral tophysician is indicated

In addition, applicants must have skill and experience in thefollowing elements of nursing practice:

* Well developed physical assessment and diagnostic skills

* Intravenous Therapy and Intravenous Initiation, central VenousLine Management

* Aseptic Technique and Body Substance Precautions

* Practicing as a partner on multidisciplinary teams

* Patient and family teaching

* Critical thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution

In addition to the above qualifications, preference will be givento applicants who have ACLS, PALS and TNCC. If

there are no qualified applicants for the above‑postedposition, the Hospital may, at its discretion, train unqualified

applicants.

Must be willing to live in the community of Upsala during the workrotation and attend regular continuing education

sessions at Thunder Regional Health Sciences Centre. Housing isavailable adjacent to the Upsala Nursing Station.

A travel allowance will be provided, if required.

Salary Range: $39.070 to 56.000
