Role is 3 hours from Toronto at Bruce Power Site or an hour Pickering, Darlington Nuclear Plants

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of pipe stress analysis, mechanical engineering principles, and industry standards to ensure the structural integrity and performance of piping systems in various industrial applications.

Responsibilities

- Perform detailed stress analysis of piping systems using industry-standard software and techniques to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety codes, and industry standards.

- Collaborate with design engineers to review and analyze piping layouts, materials, and supports to ensure that designs meet functional and safety requirements.

- Prepare engineering computations and analyses using applicable software (CAESAR II, etc.)

- Ensure all analysis and designs conform to applicable codes and standards including ASME B31.1 & B31.3, and any other relevant regulations)

- Identify potential stress-related issues or design deficiencies and provide solutions or recommendations for improvements.

- Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, analysis results, finding and recommendations

- Work closely with team members, project managers, and stakeholders, to address and resolve issues.

- Review and validate engineering calculations and ensure the accuracy of analysis results and engineering documentation.

Qualifications

- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering

- Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng)

- Minimum of 10+ years of experience in pipe stress analysis or a related field, with a proven track record in performing and interpreting pipe stress calculations.

- CAD Software proficiency with SolidWorks required

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

- Experience using CAESAR II pipe stress analysis software and strong knowledge of industry codes and standards.

- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to perform complex calculations and analysis

- Strong written and verbal communications skills

- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative approach to solving engineering problems.
