Charger Logistics is looking for an organized, tech-savvy individual to join our dynamic team as a Mongo DB Database Administrator at the company’s office in Brampton, Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  1. Install, configure, and maintain MongoDB database software and related tools.
  2. Monitor database performance and optimize queries to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  3. Implement and maintain database security, including access controls, encryption, and data integrity.
  4. Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity.
  5. Perform database migrations and upgrades as required.
  6. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
  7. Collaborate with developers to design and optimize database schemas and queries.
  8. Develop and maintain documentation related to database configuration, procedures, and best practices.
  9. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in database administration.
  10. Experience with Mongo as a service as well as K8s environment.

Requirements:

  1. 2+ years of proven work experience as a MongoDB Database Administrator or similar role, with a focus on setting up and managing large-scale MongoDB databases.
  2. Strong understanding of MongoDB architecture, including replica sets, sharded clusters, and data distribution.
  3. Knowledge of Kafka, SQL Server, DB2 is an asset.
  4. Proficiency in MongoDB database performance tuning and optimization techniques and experience with MongoDB backup and recovery strategies, including point-in-time recovery and disaster recovery procedures is a must.
  5. Knowledge of MongoDB security features and best practices for securing MongoDB databases.
  6. Familiarity with MongoDB monitoring and diagnostic tools, such as MongoDB Cloud Manager, Ops Manager, or third-party solutions.
  7. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex database issues.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  9. MongoDB certifications (e.g., MongoDB Certified DBA) are highly desirable.
