The Financial Analyst reports directly to the Vice President of Acquisitions and Vice President Investments and works closely with the President and Vice President Asset & Development Management, and collaborates with team members from all departments. In this comprehensive role, you will be actively involved in all facets of the company’s real estate acquisition, management, and disposition processes covering asset classes including but not limited to industrial, multi-residential and retail in markets across Canada.

Create and maintain financial analysis and underwriting in MS Excel and Argus Enterprise related to potential investment opportunities in all asset classes (multifamily, industrial, and retail), including detailed cash flow projections, rent roll analysis, lease rollover analysis and other relevant analyses;
Study financing/loan agreements, mortgage documents, partnership agreements, corporate financial statements, and tenant credit profiles;
Assist in the preparation of mortgage financing and investor packages; Prepare various acquisitions reports, including company pipeline reports that reflect current acquisitions activity; and assist the asset management team with portfolio performance analysis and reporting to investors and partners.

The ideal candidate will need to be a results-oriented, financial analyst with at least 2 years’ experience in commercial real estate analysis and underwriting. The ideal candidate should have an Undergraduate degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, or equivalent experience.

Experience working with real estate valuation theory and financial modeling tools including Microsoft Excel and Argus Enterprise; Additional experience working in other corporate real estate functions, including: asset management, lease management, valuations, acquisitions, loan origination, development, management and operations would be beneficial.

Strong analytical skills and knowledge of accounting, budgeting and valuation techniques for real estate;
