Seat Engineer

Location: Windsor ONPosition: Long Term ContractTitle: 1314909 - Seat EngineerDescription: The Seat Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing automotive seating systems and components. The Engineer will define functional requirements, and develop system DVPR, DFMEA and function models. The candidate will also be responsible for releasing component performance specifications, drawings and system validation. The successful candidate will be required to have interaction with other functional Engineering groups, suppliers, manufacturing plants and Purchasing.Define parameters and standards of critical systems & integrate them into CAD design templates. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Specific prior design and engineering expertise for seating Conceptual design for seating - parametric studies while fulfilling design functional targetsDevelop initial packaging design for Seating system that meets design objectivesGenerate initial designs that meets design targets and perform specific performance analysisUnderstanding to Manufacturing Best practices and guidelinesCompetitive benchmarking studiesCreate and maintain design and analysis templates / requirements as standards changeAssociative parametric modelingCAD modeling and NX design templates automation set upRequirements: Hybrid role. Occasional travel to the US for meetings. Must be located in Windsor.BSME or BSEE or equivalent Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited University is required5 years of experience. Experience with vehicle build and manufacturing is preferred; Relevant experience with Automotive Seat Engineering, Testing, Manufacturing and Assembly is preferred.Ability to understand and react to Multidisciplinary engineering fieldsStrong Excel SkillsAbility to read lab proceduresGreat communication skills
