Position Summary

The Operations Director (O.D) is responsible for the comprehensive management of our operations. This includes financial accountability, clinical and educational oversight, operational development and management, quality assurance, and human resources. A critical aspect of this role is to uphold our mission of delivering patient-centred services.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Directly report to the President/Board of Directors.
  • Supervise department leads for nuclear technologists and cardiovascular technicians.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with physicians to ensure high satisfaction with diagnostic services.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal leadership skills.
  • Maintain active involvement in delivering quality patient services and ensuring effective communication among staff and physicians.
  • Assist in preparing and updating procedure manuals related to operations, patient services, staff training, health & safety, and departmental efficiency.
  • Ensure readiness for operations assessment or inspection by Accreditation Canada, CNSC, and ISHSCA.
  • Monitor and recommend changes in operational procedures, hours of operation, service scope, and staff scheduling to optimize service quality and capacity utilization.
  • Ensure all staff adhere to health & safety standards, WHMIS legislation, and Ministry of Health regulations and licensing requirements.
  • Oversee quality management programs, review results, and maintain records for all programs.
  • Monitor preventative maintenance programs, safety check programs, and support services, including IT and Radiopharmaceutical.
  • Oversee staffing, budgeting, and supply inventories.
  • Manage the selection, hiring, development, discipline, and termination of regional staff.
  • Recommend and implement educational and training programs for staff.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for staff.
  • Assist in developing annual business plan objectives for the organization.
  • Submit regular reports for review by the Board of Directors.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the President or Board of Directors.

Qualifications:

  • Formal education in business management is preferred.
  • Membership in the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years in Nuclear Medicine, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for effective management.
