PROFILE:

This person is accountable to support the Maintenance function by preventing and repairing equipment breakdowns.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Perform repairs to machinery and plant support systems with regards to hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical problems
  2. Perform preventative maintenance (PM) schedules (as required) on machinery and plant support equipment
  3. Suggest preventative measures to minimize or eliminate breakdowns
  4. Key member in the development and implementation of Continuous Improvements
  5. Operate laptop computer to troubleshoot and suggest change/improvements to PLC programming
  6. Demonstrate a good working knowledge of ROBOTICS automation and programming
  7. Read and develop schematics
  8. Maintain correct safety standards at all times
  9. Complete all check sheets and records as it relates to the P.M. program, Work Orders, etc.
  10. Member of the Emergency Response Team
  11. Diagnose and repair basic electrical/mechanical/pneumatic problems with equipment
  12. Modify machinery and equipment and overhaul machines as directed
  13. Install, set up, and commission new equipment
  14. Must be aware of relevance and importance of their activities and how it affects quality and the environment for our customers
  15. Perform other duties as required
HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Follow the duties and responsibilities specified under the Occupational Health & Safety Act Sections 28. Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and regulations are followed. Ensure adherence to established safety, quality and housekeeping standards and participate in the continuous improvement process. Attends Environmental Health and Safety training. Adhere to Magna Closures and Dortec health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, policies and procedures. Follow compliance obligations. Report any known near miss, environmental impact, hazard, defect, incident or compliance issue to the employer or supervisor. Assist in near miss, hazard and incident investigations and provide input on corrective actions. Understand BILL 168 and uphold the policies that prohibit domestic violence, workplace violence and harassment in the Workplace.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Completion of college diploma/certificate in applicable field. 3 - 5 years of work-related experience. Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D) equivalency preferred. Minimum 1 year directly related trade experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Must have an exceptional Safety Record. Familiar with the Safe Handling and Storage of compressed gases.
