Recruitment Lead

Purpose of the Position:

The Recruitment Lead will be responsible for high volume full cycle recruitment. Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, this candidate will be highly organized, detail orientated, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Full Cycle Recruitment - create and post job adds, screen resumes, pre-screen candidates, complete reference checks, coordinate and schedule interviews
  • Attend or assist in planning events such as career fairs
  • Build strong talent pipelines and be proactive for our current and future hiring needs
  • Assist and facilitate in orientation, onboarding, and facility tours for all new employees
  • Work with hiring managers to identify recruitment requirements on an ongoing basis
  • Ensure job vacancies are posted both internally and externally
  • Source candidates through various websites and other channels
  • Screen and shortlist candidates and forward to hiring manager for review
  • Coordinate and participate in phone screens and virtual/in person interviews as required
  • Check references and communicate results to Hiring Manager
  • Register and ensure candidates complete training prior to start date
  • Prepare and negotiate offers of employment
  • Advise candidates on employment requirements (medical, police checks etc.) and ensure all required documentation is received
  • Provide a fast and high-touch experience for every candidate from application stage to offer, evaluating skill level, driving the interview process and offer process
  • Establish recruiting and onboarding requirements by understanding organizational plans and objectives, reviewing job descriptions and consulting with hiring managers to ensure a clear understanding of recruitment needs and an effective sourcing strategy
  • Provide advice and guidance to manager throughout selection process including criteria to be used for selection, interview techniques, areas of priority and focus
  • Manage relationship with various vendors and recruitment partners to identify and develop a diverse talent pipeline to respond to diverse operational needs
  • Build applicant sources and attract candidates by creatively conducting research and/or utilizing a multitude of resources and develop an ongoing and diverse pipeline
  • Provide training to hiring managers regarding hiring process and develop training on workflow processes.
  • Utilize resources and delegate tasks as necessary to team members to ensure timeliness are met
  • When applicable: students will report to this role
  • Identify and implement sourcing strategies for both passive and active talent
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, or equivalent experience required
  • Staffing/Recruitment (blend of in-house and agency) experience
  • Past experience in a non-profit environment is preferred
  • Experience working in fast-paced working environment
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrate professionalism and good judgement with them ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to generate external talent pipelines; proactively source for high-quality candidates and maintain relationships with talent for future opportunities.
  • Strong understanding and ability to recruit for all levels of the organization from entry level to senior leadership roles
  • Previous experience using LinkedIn Recruiter tool and other online sourcing tools
  • Established ability to develop and build relationships quickly and demonstrate a sense of urgency and commitment to provide the highest level of service possible
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, communication skills and team-based project experience
  • Strong vendor manager skills related to recruitment activities such as augmented staffing agencies, search firms and job boards
  • Ability to manage a large volume of recruitment
  • Self-motivated, with strong communication skills, organizational, time management and negotiation skills
  • Satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
