I am looking for a Part-Time Personal Housekeeper to work at least 18 hours a week (3 six-hour days per week that may require more here and there) with an elderly couple in good health.
Primarily based at a beautiful home in the Southwest quadrant of Calgary (with periodic travel to Bragg Creek to their other property), the role will be best suited to a self-starter who shows initiative, is highly organized, and is adept at solving problems. This individual will need to pay close attention to details, communicate effectively with the homeowners, exercise discretion and maintain privacy. Flexibility, adaptability and strong ethics are also important attributes.
The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining the household's cleanliness and organization, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for the homeowners. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing general housekeeping duties such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, garages and other requested areas throughout the home;
- Laundry care, including washing, ironing, steaming, and organizing clothing and linens;
- Organizing and tidying closets, pantries, and storage spaces with the supervision of the Principals, and assisting with taking clothes to applicable locations for donations;
- Grocery shopping and running household errands as needed may be required;
- Handling delicate items such as antiques and fine furnishings with care, and waxing furniture, as needed;
- Driving for household-related errands (e.g., dry cleaning pickup, deliveries) may be required;
- Adhering to confidentiality and privacy standards; and
- Other housekeeping-related duties as assigned.

Personal Characteristics:
- Courteous, discreet, honest, reliable, and responsible;
- Experience with handling delicate items such as antiques and other valuables;
- Diligent, meticulous and detail oriented with excellent organizational skills;
- Smart, proactive and able to anticipate needs and solve problems before they arise;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Takes initiative and possesses a willingness to learn; creativity and innovation is encouraged;
- Ability to work independently with little supervision, showcasing pride and accountability to the role;
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload;
- Energetic, dynamic and personable with a positive attitude; and
- Is available to work some periodic evenings, weekends and holidays as required, based on the schedule of the family.
- Housekeeping experience is a requirement;
- A minimum of a high school education with 3-5 years of experience in a related position;
- Must hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving history;
- Must be legally able to work in Canada; and
- Successfully complete a criminal, credit and driving backcheck process.
We have an immediate opening for a housekeeper to help maintain our home in pristine condition. No prior experience necessary, but a positive attitude and reliability are a must. We pay hourly, and the wage is negotiable.
