Looking for your next challenge? North America Sort Centers (NASC) are experiencing explosive growth and looking for a skilled, highly motivated and experienced Sr. Program Manager with leadership experience and a strong delivery record to join the NASC Mid-Term Planning Team (US and Canada). The Sort Center network is the critical Middle-Mile solution in the Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) group, linking Fulfillment Centers to the Last Mile. The experience of our customers is dependent on our ability to efficiently execute new programs and manage volume flow through the middle-mile network. The NASC Mid-Term Planning Team is expected to lead network planning to address increasing operational complexity from the evolution of new processes such as containerization, heavy-bulky freight, international shipping, customer returns, and Amazon Robotics solutions. We need to continuously innovate on behalf of our customers and develop new operating models and new science-based planning tools to efficiently match processing supply to logistics demand.
Sr. Program Managers will serve in a planning and gatekeeping function for the NASC network, interacting with all facets of the NASC Network and driving innovation, consistency, increased control, uniformity, and the development of a more efficient centralized network planning process with SC Operations and core Transportation teams in the US and Canada.
Successful candidates will be self-starters who have experience in operations life cycles, including development, design, implementation, enhancement and support along with project/program management experience. A strong bias for action, strategic and tactical planning skills, quantitative analysis, and the ability to adopt and deliver new initiatives involving leadership across cross-functional operations, technical, and business teams is essential. This position will include regular direct communications with senior leaders across the organization.
The Sr. PM must be agile with the ability to quickly adopt and drive strategies, plans, resourcing and solutions in response to dynamic business requirements. This individual needs to be comfortable interfacing and driving various functional teams and individuals across the organization.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Supports Planning Functions for NASC including Peak and Prime-Week, with broad scope for US and Canada Sort Centers footprint
- Drives integration of all network programs into a single solve at regional and continental level
- Leads major network changes from design till implementation: Peak, Prime Week, Regional and Continental optimizations, integrating specific network programs as needed.
- Designs all network elements for NASC for all major network transformations: DDU coverage, connectivity, critical pull times, and hourly volume availability profiles.
- Secures quality of the network implementation, leading new SC and cross-dock nodes launch at network level (design, ramp up, config request & supervision)
- Foster communication channels and collaboration with Transportation Configuration teams, SC Operations and all relevant Transportation stake-holders for network changes
- Develops and maintains Network Design related business continuity plans
- Assists in creation of Planning Tech Road-Map for team and promote adoption within team of Operations Research based models and tech solutions to automate processes and optimize network solutions

Key job responsibilities
• Manage and oversee various cross-functional programs, ensuring successful delivery.

• Identify and mitigate risks, preventing them from escalating into major issues.
• Regularly communicate with senior managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders to support key business initiatives.
• Develop, implement, and oversee KPI reporting for a program portfolio, ensuring clear visibility of milestones and project performance.
• Manage and communicate project budgets effectively.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Vancouver, BC, CAN
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Transportation Logistics, or related field
- Experience owning end-to-end long-term strategic planning or capacity planning initiatives
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- 5+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 5+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- Experience of Six Sigma/Lean analytical techniques

The base salary for this position ranges from $72,800/year up to $121,600/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
