This search aligns with the University’s commitment to strategically and proactively promote diversity among our community members (Statement on Equity, Diversity & Excellence ). We seek candidates whose scholarship encompasses Black health studies, critical race theory, African/Black Feminist theorization, anti-colonial (decolonial) studies, intersectional health experience including confronting anti‑black racism, misogynoir, classism, heterosexism, ableism and/or religious/spiritual oppression, among other factors; racism and colonization as social determinants of health, resistance and health, racism within health‑related institutions, organizations and professions and other public health related issues. We also encourage candidates with lived experiences to apply. Equity and diversity are essential to academic excellence. We seek candidates who value diversity and whose research, teaching, and service bear out our commitment to equity. Candidates must also show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and to the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment, as demonstrated through the application materials. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing strengths in the Division of Social and Behavioural Sciences. Candidates will be able to demonstrate how their research and teaching interests align with the DLSPH Academic Plan. Faculty members within the Dalla Lana School of Public Health teach at the undergraduate and graduate level. Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence which can be demonstrated by a record of publications in top‑ranked and field relevant journals or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements from referees. Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier (with required materials outlined below) submitted as part of the application, as well as strong letters of reference. The expected salary range is $130,000-$150,000 CAD per annum, depending on experience. Negotiations beyond this salary range will be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates. The Dalla Lana School of Public Health has an illustrious history that began in the 1920’s and continued with a recent renaissance beginning in 2008 (see synopsis).
