We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a self-motivated Software Verification Specialist with a scientific background to be a significant contributor to the Product Development team with one of our Life Science clients.

The ideal candidate will have a background in quantitative analysis or quantitative processing, coupled with an interest in learning/existing capability in script automation.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Due to its ever-expanding technology footprint, providing best in class software solutions for the equipment they design and manufacture, the future of its development technology roadmap needs a guiding hand.

As Software Verification Specialist, you will leverage your past experience and scientific background to plan and conduct all levels of verification against software products within an agile team of designers and developers. You will be responsible for ensuring that the products meet defined exit criteria and that development practices are followed.

With your passion for software quality, you will continually search for ways to ferret out critical issues that other may not consider. You will use your extensive scientific background to be a savvy and vocal advocate for our customers, ensuring that the finished product is an effective one through the use of their ingrained consideration of quality throughout the product development lifecycle.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verifying that software products fully meet requirements
  • Verifying product robustness
  • Creation, maintenance and execution of product test suites
  • Exploratory testing
  • Fleshing out of high-level requirements
  • Creating accurate verification traceability
  • Tracking verification progress, project issues, risks and requirements
  • Clearly document and communicate issues found during testing to facilitate corrective action by developers and/or designers.
  • Understand subsystem level requirements and participate in development/design discussions making recommendations to improve verification activities.
  • Planning, preparation and execution of Validation Protocols to support customer workflows within regulated laboratory environments.
  • Validation of new algorithms
  • Using provided test tools and agile processes to assist Developers and ensure that the products work as expected.
  • Managing the tools, frameworks and verification environments

ABOUT THE REQUIRED SKILLS

  • B.Sc. / M.Sc. / PhD in Chemistry or Biochemistry or 3 to 5 years of related experience.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are an absolute necessity.

Experience of particular interest:

  • Quantitative analysis and/or quantitative processing
  • Experience with Method development and validation
  • Experience with LC-MS/MS is a strong asset
  • Knowledge of script automation
  • Understanding of validation requirements for regulated environments preferred.
  • Excellent problem solving & analytical skills.
  • Ability to rapidly learn new hardware and software.
  • Ability to design relevant test cases based on realistic customer workflows.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a 6-month contract position, located in our client’s North Toronto offices. You will be expected onsite 3 days per week until end of year, followed by 5 days onsite as of January 1, 2025.
