Reporting to the Project Director, the Risk Manager will mainly focus on assessing and limit risk inherent in large-scale developments. You will ensure the project success by implementing robust risk management strategies against potential disruptions and setbacks, including managing contractual aspects to mitigate legal and financial risks.Risk Manager Where Greatness Grows

Reporting to the Project Director, the Risk Manager will mainly focus on assessing and limit risk inherent in large-scale developments. You will ensure the project success by implementing robust risk management strategies against potential disruptions and setbacks, including managing contractual aspects to mitigate legal and financial risks.This position is based in Toronto What You'll Be Working On:
- Leading risk identification, assessment, and mitigation efforts throughout the lifecycle of construction projects, particularly those involving infrastructure development.
- Collaborating closely with project stakeholders to analyze plans, specifications, and site conditions for potential risk factors.
- Developing and implementing tailored risk management plans that address the unique challenges of construction projects, including safety hazards, regulatory compliance, and environmental impact, as well as managing contractual aspects to mitigate legal and financial risks.
- Proactively minimizing budget overruns, schedule delays, and quality issues through strategic risk mitigation measures.
- Continuously monitoring project progress and risk indicators, adjusting mitigation strategies as needed to maintain project objectives.
- Facilitating open communication and collaboration among diverse project teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure alignment and project success.
- Understand and adhere to Bird’s safety management system, policies, procedures and values.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction project management or risk management, with a focus on infrastructure development.
- Deep understanding of the construction project lifecycle and associated risks.
- Proven track record of successfully managing risks on complex construction projects, particularly those involving infrastructure, and effectively managing contractual aspects to mitigate legal and financial risks.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to think strategically.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively - interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and deliver accurate and reliable results.
