They are seeking a passionate and experienced Quality Manager to lead their quality initiatives and ensure they meet and exceed their performance targets.

Position Summary: The Quality Manager will oversee the day-to-day quality system of the facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the quality, capability, and performance targets of both the products and manufacturing processes are met. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives and provide expert knowledge and skills to support various business processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance product quality through continuous improvement of processes and work practices.
  • Ensure that quality, capability, and performance targets of both products and manufacturing processes are met.
  • Maintain a competitive edge in manufacturing processes from a quality standpoint.
  • Advise and coach the management team on interpreting policies and legislation.
  • Align the Quality Department with the long-term mission and objectives of the organization.
  • Manage the quality department budget and maintain purchasing control.
  • Oversee the capability and performance of quality facilities and equipment through upgrades, continuous improvements, new installations, and maintenance.
  • Proactively plan quality processes and equipment to ensure continued competitive advantage.
  • Identify and contain all non-conforming products produced by the Canadian facilities.
  • Lead and maintain Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) workshops.
  • Support parts/processes launch management via Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and Product Change Notices (PCN).
  • Ensure Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) readiness for all components and finished goods.
  • Lead root cause analysis workshops and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct quality training throughout the organization as needed.
  • Fulfill all Health and Safety & Environmental responsibilities as per Canadian HSE Management Standards, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001.
  • Adhere to all responsibilities as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Requirements, and Personal Traits:

  • Travel Requirement: Regular (approximately 30%)
  • Reports to: Director of Operations
  • Direct Reports: 10 - 15
  • Education: Undergraduate or college degree (or equivalent) with a focus in quality is required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a similar role.
  • Language: Primary language is English; advanced proficiency required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office products (advanced Excel and PowerPoint), working knowledge of CMS or similar MRP system, process control, problem identification, and solving.
  • Personal Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to lead cross-functional teams, high degree of integrity, proven ability to achieve results, proactive in learning and development, and proven ability to work with and develop people.
  • Automotive experience, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Knowledge are required
