As site Superintendent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the multi-unit construction site on assigned projects, ensuring the work is completed safely and consistent with Cresco standards and project specifications. You will also manage materials and supplies and maintain accurate project documents. Most importantly, you will provide safety leadership and promote a culture of safety performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Day-to-day management of the construction site on assigned projects, ensuring the work is completed safely.
  2. Leading and directing all on-site activities, including site security, manpower and logistics, establishing on-site work methods, managing material and supplies, and maintaining accurate project documents.
  3. Providing safety leadership and promoting a culture of safety performance.
  4. Driving the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team, ensuring that site activities, dates, and milestones are met.
  5. Maintaining daily documents including field reports, safety inspections, schedule updates, etc.
  6. Ensuring sufficient manpower is provided to achieve safety, schedule, and quality objectives.
  7. Providing people leadership by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with site staff and subcontractors to promote positive morale.
  8. Forecasting material requirements and collaborating with appropriate stakeholders to ensure that materials are supplied in a timely fashion and meet quality standards.
  9. Identifying and advising of design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or difficulties, and other project issues while working collaboratively with the Project Manager to resolve issues.
  10. Ensuring that orientations, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training are conducted as necessary.
  11. Other roles and duties as the Employer may require.

Minimum Requirements: The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience and knowledge to perform the duties stated above. He or she must be able to communicate in English or French at a good level at a minimum.

Where: Nova Scotia, with emphasis on the Halifax Metro area.
