Location:District of Lake Country Municipal Hall
Term of Employment:September 3 – April 30, 2025 (Approximate Dates)

Job Description:
This role will support the organization in its Financial Services. Using your finance and accounting knowledge and skills, you will:

  • Assist the accounting team on financial matters;
  • Assist the accounting team with special projects;
  • Support accounting clerks in performing analysis and research;
  • Assist in collecting and compiling data for grant programs, budget, and statutory reporting requirements;
  • Assist with general administration of work orders, petty cash, performance deposits and office supplies;
  • Support accounting clerks in preparation of GST/HST returns, bank reconciliations and bank deposits;
  • Assist in preparing correspondence and maintaining filing systems of the Finance Department; and
  • Perform other related duties as required.


Required Training and Experience

  • Preference will be given to students enrolled in an accredited college or university program in a finance, accounting or business management program or related field of study.


Work Environment

  • Works at Municipal Hall
  • Long hours in sitting position
  • Exposure to standard office equipment and computer


Required Abilities, Technical Skills and Knowledge

  • Basic skills to operate all general office equipment;
  • Intermediate skills to operate Microsoft Office and any other business software used by the District, including intermediate Excel and Word skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail and math skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet set deadlines
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
