Tetra Tech’s Mechanical & Electrical group is currently seeking a candidate with a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Canadian University. The successful candidate will work as part of an engineering consulting team for the design, development and implementation of mechanical systems required for municipal and industrial facilities such as water treatment plants, pump stations, composting facilities, transfer stations, and power generation facilities. This position is a permanent full-time role and will be based in the Winnipeg office and will include work with clients throughout Canada. The successful candidate will report to the M&E manager in Winnipeg.

Your Role :

Uses ACAD to develop design drawings. Is responsible for studies of limited scope requiring application of prescribed engineering methods. Assists more senior engineers in carrying out various engineering assignments, including, heating/cooling load calculations, plumbing and drainage design, preparation of drawings, investigations, studies. Works under supervision and duties are assigned with detailed oral and occasionally written instructions as to methods and procedures to be followed. Performs field inspection, condition assessment, and monitoring of construction. Working with others on the design team to ensure a complete and integrated building design for our clients.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Canadian University. Experience using ACAD is mandatory. Experience in HVAC design would be an asset. Experience in plumbing design would be an asset. Eligible to be registered as an E.I.T with Engineers and Geoscientists of Manitoba (EGM). Experience in the use of MS Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint would be an asset. Strong people skills and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Valid driver’s license

Working Environment

Typical engineering office environment with no or very limited physical effort required. Occasional short site assignments may be required.

A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.)

Some Tetra Tech positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law. A technical/practical assessment may be administered during the selection process and this exercisewill be used as a part of the selection criterion.

To meet the physical demands required of some positions, candidates must be in good physical condition and willing to work in all weather conditions. Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing may be required. As this position may be serving clients that have COVID-19 vaccination requirements for site access, we will be confirming your eligibility to comply with this requirement.
