Quality Assurance Engineer II, Pricing Customer Experience and Trust (Level 5)

We are looking for a passionate QA Engineer to help us enhance the customer journey by informing them if a price should be featured or promoted to our buying customers. You will build customer experiences viewed by millions of people a day. You will have the opportunity to learn and be a part of the Amazon retail website ecosystem globally.

Key job responsibilities
Our QA Engineers test code at both the service and user level, using a variety of black box, gray box, and white box testing techniques. As a QA Engineer, you will innovate our test strategy across multiple dependencies, locales and device types and implement highly scalable automation to enable both UI (web and device level) and back end testing.

You will work to be able to understand software internals, debug complex problems including performance bottlenecks, and write automated tests in and/or using existing automated tools.
QA Engineers work with Software Development Engineers and Business Owners to understand business drivers and technical implementation of features.
QA Engineers also work with groups such as Product Management, User Interaction, and Customer Support to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments and regression tests.

You must have experience in diagnosing project release problems and taking corrective action, such as escalating as needed, to resolve and achieve results. Our QA Engineers are also responsible for driving our software development process toward quality-centric methodologies and for reporting on test progress, metrics, and issues.

A day in the life
A QAE II role at Pricing involves, creating test plans for manual and automation test execution, driving test execution along with peers and stakeholders (SDM, SDE, TPM, PM etc.) including but not limited to bug triaging and status reporting, writing test automation using top-notch inbuilt testing frameworks, debugging and reporting.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Vancouver, BC, CAN

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
- Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality

The base salary for this position ranges from $72,600/year up to $121,200/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
