Role Purpose :
Reporting to the Superintendent, the Roads Superintendent will help with supervising the construction and traffic activities on an active MTO project.

Key Responsibilities include:

Allocates workers and equipment to crews and projects, planning and supervising specific placement for effective and efficient accomplishment of work
Requisitions tools and equipment required in the performance of maintenance and construction activities.
Inspects and reviews construction and maintenance work in progress and upon completion to assure compliance with prescribed standards
Instructs crew workers in the safe and effective methods of construction, repair and maintenance
Investigates, evaluates and takes or recommends action in response to complaints of hazardous or poor road and/or bridge conditions
Supervises the maintenance of time and equipment records
Assists in preparing budget estimates Participates in the selection of Road crew members
Participates in disciplinary actions related to crew members
Communicates with the public regarding construction and repair activities

Position Requirements:

A degree in Construction Management is required.
Experience with MTO projects.
2+ years of experience in a related role.
MTO book 7 on 400 series is needed.
Experience in AFP/P3 Design-Build projects is desired.
Results-driven with an ability to deliver success in a fast-paced environment.
Outcome-focused, critical thinker with the ability to analyze and visualize to ensure continuous improvement across our business.
Ability to connect and interact with people to seek different perspectives.
Superb communication and interpersonal skills
Strong ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple competing priorities.
Demonstrate versatility and resourcefulness in overcoming business challenges.
