Your future role on our team:


BBA is currently seeking a chemical engineer to join a team that offers high-quality expertise and consulting services. As an engineer, you will be required to implement projects in the Oil, Gas and Biofuels sector as well as build and strengthen client relationships.


With us, you'll get the opportunity to:

  1. Develop process design basics and criteria
  2. Apply established calculation and design methods
  3. Produce mass and energy balances using simulation software
  4. Design and determine specifications for process equipment
  5. Supervise a team of engineers, where required
  6. Help with project cost estimates
  7. Perform equipment commissioning and performance testing
  8. Perform inspections or technical surveys
  9. Prepare process flow diagrams (PFD) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs)
  10. Prepare technical reports
  11. Participate in risk studies (HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, What-if)
  12. Participate in technical and economic feasibility studies
  13. Review and verify process engineering deliverables produced by other team members
  14. Prepare proposals and client presentations
  15. Participate in developing and growing the capabilities of the process team and the firm

Overview of certifications and job requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  2. From 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the Oil, Gas and Biofuels industry
  3. Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
  4. Solid statistical and analytical knowledge
  5. Excellent knowledge of fluid mechanics, heat transfer and thermodynamics
  6. Interest in the environment and energy transition
  7. Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  8. Proficient with Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS process simulation software
  9. Proficient with Fathom and PIPE-FLO simulation software for hydraulic calculations
  10. Excellent written and spoken communication (English and French)
  11. Asset: experience in consulting and established clientele
  12. Asset: experience with methanation, LNG, pyrolysis, gasification and other processes involving hydrocarbons, biofuels and bioplastics
