Lead Design Engineer – Montreal QC

Quebec, Canada Ranger Design Full time

Under the Engineering Design Manager’s supervision, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Work with identified suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability and profitability.
  • Create clear and accurate part and assembly drawings.
  • Manage Sourced Products.
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and solutions.
  • Work with supply chain and suppliers to develop a solution on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate the launch ensure all step of the Ranger design process were followed (design reviews, sign off, testing, implementation, trainings, etc).
  • Support the program manager by providing technical expertise on designs, time estimates, and products.
  • Ensure Product Quality Control – Ensure all new products are tested and conform with Ranger safety standards and design practices and meet or exceed industry standards.
  • Complete and document testing and test-fitting of products to ensure fit, function and safety conformance.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintain and acquire knowledge of safety standards in the category of each design project.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 3 years of work experience in a similar role.
  • Project management.
  • Manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Process improvement.
  • Safety management.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • An ability to multi-task and work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Be fluently bilingual (Asset).
  • Ability to manage priorities and work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of an ERP (Epicor, would be an asset).
