About the Role: Electrical or Electro-mechanical Engineering Technologist

What will you do:

  1. Design and draft electrical assemblies using Zuken E3 Electrical.
  2. Draft electrical lock diagrams, schematics, and cable assemblies to be compliant with task technical requirements.
  3. Work with manufacturing partners to introduce designs into production and solve related manufacturing issues.
  4. Diagnose problems with existing designs, propose and test design modifications.
  5. Assist with the Lead Engineer and/or Project Manager during design reviews.
  6. Maintain currency of Electrical/Electronic design best practices, methodologies, initiatives.
  7. Support and execute the day-to-day operations of the test site.
  8. Work closely with project management to set up and build project test sites.
  9. Support projects during design, assembly, hardware integration/testing, and acceptance phases.
  10. Set up and prepare equipment for testing.
  11. Perform hardware testing of systems as per test procedures.
  12. Apply knowledge of electronics to assemble electronic test jigs, hardware systems, and test sites using layout diagrams, schematics, and/or verbal instructions.
  13. Build wire harness assemblies.
  14. Perform complex and intricate wiring of chassis, consoles, and enclosures.
  15. Comply with test site processes and work instructions.
  16. Review hardware and engineering documentation.
  17. Assist in developing policies and procedures for the test site to ensure safety, efficiency, and functionality.
  18. Follow safety policies and procedures for the test site and using a “safety first″ mindset.
  19. May be required to work overtime/weekends, at times.
  20. Assist with customer support requests via telephone and email, as well as on-site visits as required.
  21. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned at any time.
  22. Travelling to customer sites (within Canada and abroad) on short notice up to one month at a time.
Required Skills and Experiences:

Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma or any other relevant field; 2-7 years of work experience; Capable of reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and system block diagrams; Experience with CAD software (Zuken preferred) is an asset. Advanced computer skills & Microsoft Office Suite; Preferably certified in one or more of the following courses: J-STD-001, Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies; IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies; IPC/WHMA-A-620, Requirements and Acceptance for Cable/Wire Harness Assemblies.

Eligibility Criteria (Mandatory):

Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program; Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO SECRET security clearance; Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
