Your Role and Responsibilities

Software development is critical to the success of IBM and our clients worldwide. At IBM, you will use the latest software development tools, techniques and approaches and work with leading minds in the industry to build solutions you can be proud of.

This job will allow you to enhance the Data & AI products and solutions at IBM. We are looking for seasoned professionals who are passionate about building products & solutions that are architected using modern technologies. The team adopts a blend of agile and traditional methodologies to deliver with speed and quality.

An Application Developer is responsible for internal and external applications to help improve the product experience. The position will utilize high-level specifications from the business to develop Cognos and Watson AI Assistant applications. These applications will help support and educate the customer as well as become assets used by quality engineering, performance testing and customer support. You will act as the voice of the customer and provide clear feedback around the product features and experience.

The job duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  1. Develop Cognos and Watson Assistant applications that capture real world customer scenarios and can be utilized by Development, PM, QC and Performance.
  2. Support internal product implementations.
  3. Provide feedback through testing the ease of use and feature functionality of the applications.
  4. Gather requirements and solicit feedback to drive improvements in modeling, design, development, testing, integration, and documentation.
  5. Provide input on new features and services by working with the Development and Product Management teams.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Excellent understanding of Cognos Analytics - Reporting and Dashboarding.
  • Experience dealing with real world customer use cases.
  • Experience with data modules and FM Packages.
  • Familiarity automating in scripting languages (e.g., Python, shell script etc).
  • Familiarity with JSON and XML.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Full stack knowledge of Cognos Analytics.
  • Experience with AI, Unix, TestRail, Jira, Git, Jenkins, Docker is a plus.
  • Experience with Public Cloud Services (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud).

Location Statement

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.

This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions. If you are a Foreign National from any of the following US sanctioned countries (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions of Ukraine) on a work permit, you are not eligible for employment in this position.
