The Role: Reporting to the Manager and Team Lead, the Technical Lead, Application Development provides technical leadership to a cross functional team in the analysis, development and implementation of application changes and enhancements. The role is responsible for providing technical oversight on all assigned applications.

What you will do:
- Work within a cross-functional team consisting of a Product Owner, Scrum Master, Business Analyst, Application Developers, DevOps Technician and Quality Assurance Specialists to ensure code quality, accuracy and correct business solutions have been developed based on specifications.
- Create technical requirements in the team’s backlog
- Assist and collaborate with development teams in order to ensure:
- Best practices are being followed
- Standards are being met
- Help mentor and cross-train developers on the team
- Help direct standards and technology change for both short and long term
- Provide high level estimates during envisioning and concept stages
- Assist with Impact and risk assessment during envisioning and concept stages
- Assist with Application Modernization and Architecture Roadmap alignment
- Lead application development from concept through to implementation
- Lead technical discussions and gather consensus for decisions from stakeholders
- Create code snippets and starter code for the team
- Lead code reviews and walkthroughs to ensure the code being built is aligned with design specifications
- Take an active part in all development phases, including research, design, development, testing, and deployment
- Reviewing and assisting in maintaining First National’s software development standards.
- Assist AppOps with investigating Application related Help Desk tickets issued by the end user(s)
The Requirements Needed:
- Experience in Microsoft .NET Core, C#, SQL, Angular, JSON, HTML, XML
- Student and Practitioner of Solution Design Patterns and Best Practices such as SOA, Microservices
- Experience working with Azure cloud services
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to help/direct other members on the team with their work
- Ability to promote best practices and coding standards across the team
- Demonstration of specialized knowledge in one or more technical domains
- Ability to help with planning and executing projects by drawing on Application and Technical knowledge and providing recommendations to Management
- Ability to help remove roadblocks, including debugging, for their team in order to help the project team reach their goals
- Ability to adapt and learn new technologies quickly
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently with minimal guidance
- Ability to lead meetings and present technical subjects to a wide audience
- Proven or organizationalskills and demonstrated ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Hands-on experience with development on Financial Systems
- Experience with Financial Transaction Processing Systems
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science or Information Technology required
- 5+ years’ experience in application development is required
- 2+ years’ experience in leading developers or technical initiatives is required
- The individual must be well versed with the OOP (Object Oriented Programming) concepts and frameworks.
- Comprehension and experience with architectural frameworks and development methodologies (REST, SOA, EF, CSLA, ASP.NET, MVC, HTML5, Blazor, etc…)
- Experience in SQL Server 2016 or greater is required
- Experience working within an Agile Software Development Process
- Need to have working knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML) and other architecture modeling notations to sketch the class diagrams, object diagrams, sequence diagrams, collaboration diagram and use cases related to the project
- Knowledge of Database ETL Tools and Reporting technologies such as SSIS, SSRS
