Job Description:

Our client is a rapidly growing Edmonton based Mechanical Engineering Consulting firm looking to immediately hire a Mechanical Engineer with some understanding/background in Pressure Equipment.

Responsibilities:
  1. Review of drawings, mechanical designs calculations, material specifications, purchase requisition and stamping design packages.
  2. Preparation / review of material take off, material specifications and purchase requisitions.
  3. Technical review of vendor quotations in compliance with project requirements.
  4. Coordinate and manage mechanical engineering projects of various sizes and complexity with minimal supervision.
  5. Provide mentorship to technologists, engineers, and/or designers.
  6. Creating 3D CAD and drawings models using Autodesk Inventor.
  7. Working within Mathcad software to create and modify calculations.
  8. Working within COMPRESS software for the design of pressure equipment.
  9. Completing FE Analysis using ANSYS Workbench or Inventor FEA.
  10. Co-ordination with inter-discipline departments, clients / consultants, and inspection agencies.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.

Registration as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or E.I.T soon to be eligible for registration.

Well versed with drafting software such as; Solid Works, AutoPlant. Preference given to candidates with strong experience with Autodesk Inventor.

3+ years of relevant work experience in these fields:

  • Pressure equipment design in accordance with ASME Section VIII Div. 1, ASME B31.3, and ASME B31.1 (Required).
  • Finite Element Analysis (Inventor or ANSYS Workbench Preferred).
