Mathchtech is working with a key client within the railway industry to recruit a Civil Engineer with rail & transit experience to work in Toronto. This is a permanent position looking for someone with specific experience in alignment.

Job DescriptionCivil Engineer-Rail & transit | Toronto | Permanent
Our office in Toronto is seeking a Civil Engineer-Rail to join our team. This position involves working on Civil designs for Rail projects (High Speed, Metro, LRT, streetcars) in the Toronto office.
What will your duties be?- Assist Design Manager in all tasks related to the development of construction documents required for the Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations, and Tunnel Project
- Monitor Design Schedule, track deliverable dates, and prepare look-ahead schedule for distribution
- Assist discipline leads to identify design issues and prepare RFIs to send to the client as required
- Manage Design Subconsultant agreements, deliverables, and invoicing process
- Track all Project associated costs related to Design hours progress tracking, estimating
- Work with Discipline Leads to ensure that design solutions are fully coordinated with other disciplines and contract requirements by chairing meetings, preparing sketches, tracking deliverables
- Work with BIM and CAD personnel to develop drawings, sketches, and support documents when required
- Track and Monitor Design Interfaces - Internal, External with Client and External with Third Parties
- Review all contract requirements and ensure Compliance
- Participate in Change Management process and assist Commercial Manager when required

What do you need to fit the position?- 5-8 years' experience as a Civil engineer, including alignment (mandatory)
- Familiar with various Ontario-market clients' design standards
- Some experience as a Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager is an asset
- Eng. or registered as Engineer-in-Training with Professional Engineers Ontario is an asset
