About the Role

Are you passionate about this work? The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design and specification of the electrical system on Zarpac projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Create full electrical design packages including BOM, schematics, assembly drawings and layouts.
  2. Check & validate all final design documentation, parts lists and drawings according to design & contract requirements, to ensure completeness & accuracy.
  3. Review and interpret customer and vendor drawings and specifications.
  4. Design or coordinate the design of MCC’s/PDP’s and overall power distribution.
  5. Prepare contractor and scope of work instructions.
  6. Prepare electrical layout and detailed drawings and schematics.
  7. Interpret technical specifications & application parameters.
  8. Write, test and commission PLC and HMI code.
  9. Conceptualize new designs.
  10. Select cost effective OEM components.

Qualifications

If this sounds like you, we want to connect

  1. 7+ years of Electrical/Controls Engineering experience.
  2. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  3. Experience with production line design and working with end users in a consulting capacity.
  4. Experience with low voltage power distribution and electrical panel designs (600V).
  5. Experience with communications network design.
  6. Solid AutoCAD skills required.
  7. Strong programming and troubleshooting abilities.
  8. PLC programming experience in Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs is required.
  9. Experience with Factory Talk Studio or Wonderware.
  10. Experience with industrial robots is an asset.
  11. Experience with servo and VFD system design and programming is preferred.
  12. P Eng. Designation is an asset.
  13. Strong written and communication skills.
  14. Good knowledge of North American electrical standards for equipment manufacturing.
