What you will do:

  1. As a Commercial Relationship Manager within one of our regions at Metro Bank you will work closely with your portfolio of Commercial Customers, supporting them by providing value-added Relationship Management.
  2. Build and maintain a clear relationship strategy for your customers, professionals and other Key Business Introducers (KBIs), including new customer on-boarding, risk management and income growth.
  3. Support with timely completion of annual renewals and Credit Application.
  4. Ensure all credit, financial crime and operational risks are managed.
  5. Process all Covenants and Conditions Subsequent as they fall due and escalate appropriately with Credit as required.
  6. Gather information from customers; assessing, analysing and interpret financial information (e.g. financial statements, management accounts, profit and loss statements).
  7. Work closely with Regional Commercial team colleagues, in particular your local hub.
  8. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments such as Credit, Lending & Securities, Lending Operations, Financial Crime Risk & Controls and other Regional Teams.

What you will need:

  1. Proven relationship management experience within a commercial or business bank environment, including good working knowledge of commercial banking products.
  2. Exceptional customer service skills, with a proven ability to generate new income lines, and deposit and lending opportunities.
  3. Knowledge of the commercial lending process, from start to completion with excellent credit, analytical and numerical skills (strong risk awareness across both operational and credit environment).
  4. Good analytical skills and an ability to review and analyse financial accounts and other relevant documentation.
  5. Proven ability to strengthen existing relationships and attract further deposits and switchers to grow business and portfolios.
  6. Communication, stakeholder and team-working skills are essential.
  7. A good understanding of Financial Crime, AML requirements and Treating Customers Fairly/conduct expectations.
  8. Experience providing KYC support to ensure delivery of an exceptional on-boarding/account opening experience.
