What you’ll be doing

As the Senior Manager - Risk Register, you will lead the enterprise-wide risk register process to consolidates the risks inherent in CIBC’s businesses. It is updated through various processes such as Emerging Risks, Business Unit Risk Reviews and the Change Initiative Risk Assessment Process (CIRAP), to reflect changes in the nature of the risks the Bank faces.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How you’ll succeed

  • Drive change – As a subject matter expert of the Enterprise Risk Register Program, you will drive change through a bottoms-up and top-down approach to improve both the identification, quantification, and measurement of risks across the Enterprise Risk platform.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills - Lead discussions during Risk Register meetings and ensure proper execution of the Risk Identification process from both a First Line of Defense and Second Line of Defense perspective. You will also provide review and challenge of inputs from the First Line of Defense and Second Line of Defense.
  • Delivery mindset – Work with the Enterprise Risk Management team to ensure material and emerging risks are properly integrated into scenarios and involve the Risk Register Program to meet the future needs of the Bank.
  • Process Improvement and innovating thinking - Think strategically to identify ways to improve the business including new process opportunities. Develop detailed reports and presentations for senior management, summarizing key metrics, trends, and initiatives related to disputes resolution.
